CIMO/IPB/SUSTEC researcher participated in a global study published in the journal Nature

A pioneering study on the presence of plastic waste in lakes and reservoirs has just been published in the journal Nature under the title "Plastic debris in lakes and reservoirs" (DOI: 10.1038/s41586-023-06168-4). Ana M. Antão-Geraldes, a CIMO/IPB/SUSTEC researcher, participated together with 79 other researchers who are members of the international "Global Lake Ecological Observatory Network (GLEON)", in this study. The results show that plastic fragments are widespread in lakes and reservoirs globally.
