FROM NATURE TO PRODUCTS, TOWARDS SUSTAINABILITY.

Fruits4Health awarded at "Concurso Universitário & Politécnico CAP – Cultiva o teu futuro”

CIMO-IPB project Fruits4Health, teamed by the students Kevin Silva, Morgane Podence and Sandra Lamas, with the mentoring of Nuno Rodrigues and Elsa Ramalhosa, was awarded in 2nd place in the 9th edition of the competition "Concurso Universitário & Politécnico CAP – Cultiva o teu futuro“. The project presented 3 unlikely combinations, namely “Flavours of Protected Designation of Origin (DOPs)”: Douro almond, bravo de esmolfe apple and oeste rocha pear; “Flavours of the Forest”: hazelnuts, blackberries and plums, and “Mediterranean Flavours”: almond, dried fig, grapes and dried tomatoes. These mixtures seek to increase the valorisation of dried fruits of national origin and encourage the consumption of short chain products thus reducing the ecological footprint. Among the 15 finalists of the competition was also another CIMO-IPB project, InovPrunus – Created by Nature, teamed by the students Cátia Nunes and Luísa Gonçalves, which accounted with the mentoring of Paula Batista. Congratulations to all for this good performance!
