Protocol for Santulhana olive oil valorization signed by IPB and Bragança Municipality

On 2nd October, Bragança Municipality has signed a protocol with IPB, through its research center CIMO-IPB, aiming at characterizing and improving Santulhana olive oil variety, originally from the region of Izeda (Bragança)/Santulhão (Vimioso). This is an olive oil of high quality that has entered the market through local producers, achieving several awards at international level. With this protocol it is intended to explore this variety and valorize its high potential trough the cooperation with the team coordinated by José Alberto Pereira (CIMO-IPB Coordinator). The signature of the protocol accounted with the participation of Hernani Dias (Mayor of Bragança Municipality), Jorge Fidalgo (Mayor of Vimioso Municipality), and Orlando Rodrigues (IPB President). The ceremony ended with Santulhana olive oil tasking, commented by Nuno Rodrigues (CIMO-IPB Researcher).
