Fertilizer management in the sector of medicinal and aromatic plants (MAP) is largely empirical. To date, there is no published data on critical nutrient concentrations or sufficiency ranges allowing the interpretation of the actual results of tissue plant analysis. Thus, producers who are interested in establishing rational fertilization plans based on analysis of plant tissues are limited, because there is not implemented an advisory systems in the laboratories, due to the lack of standard sufficiency ranges. Thus, it is necessary to prepare standard values that permit the interpretation of the plant analysis results for the most important MAP cultivated in Portugal.
