LignoBeauty wins the “Valorization of Endogenous Resources” award of the “11th Crédito Agrícola Entrepreneurship and Innovation Awards”
LignoBeauty, presented by Giovana Colucci, a PhD student under the guidance of Professors Filomena Barreiro (CIMO/IPB) and Alírio Rodrigues (LSRE-LCM/FEUP), has been honored with the “Valorization of Endogenous Resources” award at the “11th edition of the Crédito Agrícola Entrepreneurship and Innovation Awards”. The ceremony took place on November 20th in Santarém.
Embedded within a circular value chain, LignoBeauty demonstrates both environmental and economic benefits. The project addresses a technology to produce a lignin-based multifunctional ingredient for cosmetic formulations, offering a sustainable alternative to harmful synthetic ingredients. Valorizing endogenous resources contributes to sustainable practices in the cosmetics industry while addressing the growing concerns about health and environmental safety.
