SusTEC/IPB involved in the creation of ValorBarroso
On June 25, a protocol aiming at the creation of the “Centro para a Valorização do Barroso – Património Agrícola Mundial –ValorBarroso” was signed by several institutions in Montalegre, among them the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança representing the Associated Laboratory for Sustainability and Technology in the Mountain Regions (SusTEC) and the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT). The main objective was to train and consolidate highly qualified human resources with knowledge and ability to understand and intervene at the level of the different aspects of "Barroso - World Agricultural Heritage", aiming at developing and valorising this territory by creating new centres for knowledge-intensive activities, promoting the ancestral, and producing and disseminating new and transdisciplinary knowledge involving local, and mountain research and innovation agents. To achieve these goals, applications for three post-doctoral fellowships, one funded by the municipalities of Montalegre and Boticas and 12 doctoral fellowships, financed by FCT, will be open.
