Professor Joana Amaral, a research member of the Mountain Research Center (CIMO), and professor of School of Technology and Management of the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança (IPB), was elected Chair of the Food Chemistry Division of the European Chemical Society (FCD-EuChemS) at the last annual meeting held on 20th November 2020. The new Board, which includes Cristina Todasca as secretary and Michael Murkovic as treasurer, was elected for 2021-2023 period.
EuChemS is a non-profit organization founded in 1970, representing more than 160,000 chemists from 50 Member Societies and other chemistry- related organizations, including several national Chemical Societies, among which the Portuguese Chemical Society (SPQ). EuChemS aims to promote cooperation in Europe between scientific and technical societies and to nurture a platform for the scientific discussion providing a single, unbiased European voice on key policy issues in chemistry and related fields.
