OleaChain a project dedicated to olive value-chain valorization was approved

The project OleaChain: Skills for sustainability and innovation in the value chain of traditional olive groves in the Northern Interior of Portugal, which accounts with the participation of CIMO, CeDRI, UNIAG and CIEB, all IPB research units, was approved. The project has a budget of € 1 270 533, and is directed to the hiring of human resources to work in the valorization of this value-chain of high importance for the Trás-os-Montes region. The project addresses aspects such as olive groves cultivation, olive oil and olives production, valorization of residues, dissemination of ancestral olive heritage, as well as educational initiatives to promote this emblematic sector.
