CIMO-IPB joins regional institutions to study and valorize Douro olive oils
Last 8th June, the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança (IPB), through CIMO-IPB, signed two cooperation protocols to study and valorize the high quality virgin olive oils produced in the Northern Region of Portugal. The first protocol, “Characterization and enhancement of olive oils from the Douro region”, was signed by CIMO-IPB, CEPAD (Centro de Estudos e Promoção do Azeite do Douro), and APPITAD (Associação de Produtores em Proteção Integrada de Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro). The second one “Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro Olive oil contest”, was signed by CIMO-IPB, Capital Douro (Associação Industrial, Comercial e de Serviços de S. João da Pesqueira), and APPITAD. The signature took place at the IPB Central Services building with the presence of the IPB President, Orlando Rodrigues, the Scientific Coordinator of CIMO-IPB, José Alberto Pereira, the President of CEPAD, Carlos Carvalho, the President of Capital Douro, Paulo Tolda, and the President of the APPITAD, Francisco Pavão.
