Mountain 2018 just started
Mountains 2018 started Monday, December 10, in Nova Friburgo, Brazil.
The event, comprising the III Workshop on Sustainable Development in
Mountain Environments and the II International Conference on Research
for Sustainable Development in Mountains Regions, is the largest
conference dedicated to mountains research and development ever
organized in Brazil. CIMO and the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança,
organizers of Mountains 2016, the first edition of the event that took
place in Bragança in 2016, are co-organizers of the 2018 edition with
Embrapa, the main organizer, and several other institutions in Brazil
and Scotland, and the Mountain partnership. The Iberian Mountain
Research Network, the Portuguese Mountain Research Network and LuMont
collaborate in the organization of the event. The major topics of the
2018 edition will be public policies in mountains and the connection of
research to practice.
