On October 19, 2024, CIMO-IPB researcher Mónia Andreia Rodrigues Martins was awarded a research grant provided by Green Chemistry for Life, a joint program from UNESCO, the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC), and the PhosAgro Group. The award ceremony occurred in Beijing, China, as part of the 10th IUPAC International Conference on Green Chemistry.

On 21st November, CIMO-IPB had the honour to host the visit of the President of the Republic of Cape Verde, José Maria Neves. This short but profit visit was part of the institutional visit to the Bragança Polytechnic University (Instituto Politécnico the Bragança, IPB) during the Africa Week 2024 (Semana D'África) celebrations.
As part of the ERASMUS project "eSafeFoods", the face-to-face training event "Making the Most of Microbiological Challenge Test Data" will take place at the School of Agriculture (IPB) as a three-hour demo workshop on the 30 April 2024.
The Consortium of Agricultural Science Schools (CECA), comprising the Higher Institute of Agronomy (ISA) of the University of Lisbon, the University of Évora (UE), the University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro (UTAD) and the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança (IPB), announces a call for the award of 20 Doctoral Research Grants in the area of Agricultural Sciences.

Sustec/ IPB has obtained the second placed in this hackathon to develop an innovative solutions for predicting SOC density at site. So, we would like contribute to ESA and researchers around the world to produce the most accurate SOC monitoring systems. The authors of this world contribution are Arthur Aparecido Janoni Lima and Júlio Castro Lopes, FCT research fellows of Sustec, supervised by Tomas de Figueiredo (CIMO) and Rui Pedro Lopes (CEDRI) and Zulimar Hernández, who have developed an algoritm with high capacity to predict SOC.
CIMO's project LIFE MARONESA - Market Awareness and Opportunity Raising for Needed Extensification and Soil-Friendly Agriculture – was recently published in the Scientific American Journal - a science journal from the United States of America (US).
Within the context of the Program PRIMA - The Partnership for Research and Innovation in the Mediterranean Area – Section 2 - 2023 edition, with national/regional funding agencies' funds, for collaborative projects on water management, farming systems, and/or agri-food chain, CIMO-IPB got approved 3 projects as partner institution: DurInnPack (Filomena Barreiro), FoWRSaP (Márcio Carocho), and OLIVEPACK (Elsa Ramalhosa).

As part of Ecology Day, entitled "Propagation and planting of Mediterranean trees in the Sabor Lakes: Get ready to plant!", an activity will be held in the IPB's greenhouses to sow the stratified seeds of local Mediterranean species for the subsequent creation of a nursery of forest species in the Sabor Lakes. The activity will take place on 15 January (and may be extended to 16 and 17 January) by the volunteers initially enrolled in the training.
Researchers from CIMO, responsible for IPB's participation in the LIFE SILFORE Project, welcomed researchers from the LIFE MIDMACC and LIFE Maronesa projects in a networking event. On Wednesday, November 22nd, IPB hosted researchers from the LIFE MIDMACC project – Adaptando la media montaña al cambio climático (Adapting the mid-mountain to climate change), and the LIFE Maronesa project - Sensibilização do Mercado para as Oportunidades da Pecuária Extensiva e da Agricultura Sustentável (Raising Awareness of the Market for Opportunities in Extensive Livestock Farming and Sustainable Agriculture).
On December 6, CIMO-IPB participated in the Bragança Territorial Session on the National Strategy for the Green New Deal (GND). During the event, citizens, public entities, companies, business groups, associations, and NGOs discussed the specificities of the CIM Terras de Trás-os-Montes. Key sectors were identified, and proposals for solutions to address the climate and ecological emergency in the GND's six areas/missions were presented: 1) Quality of life with nature; 2) Active and empowered citizens for a green and fair transition; 3) Pact for water; 4) Collective, active, and shared mobility accessible to everyone; 5) Green energy for all and 6) People and territories safe and adapted to climate change.

The application “Artemisinin bioavailability enhancement through eutectic formation with natural excipients" led by Mónia Martins and with team members Simão Pinho, Olga Ferreira and Aline Zambom, was granted within the context of the PhosAgro/ UNESCO/ IUPAC Partnership in Green Chemistry for Life call.
CIMO-IPB scientists are among the most cited scientists worldwide, according to a ranking from a study by Stanford University (USA). The career-long list integrates Isabel C.F.R. CIMO/IPB and 17 other European partners, coordinated by Ghent University University Professor Dirk de Graaf, team up to restore the harmony and balance of honey bees, through implementation of the Horizon project Better-B. The ultimate goal of Better-B is to improve the resilience of beekeeping to abiotic stresses such as climate change, habitat loss and hazardous chemicals.

The work “Study of the Urban Heat Island (UHI) Using Remote Sensing Data/Techniques: A Systematic Review" by Cátia Almeida (FCUP), Ana Cláudia Teodoro (FCUP), and Artur Gonçalves (CIMO-IPB), won the Environments 2021 Best Paper Award. The award is selected by the award committee based on the overall evaluation of the originality and significance of the papers published in the journal Environments (MDPI) during 2021.
The 14th edition of the International Chemical and Biological Engineering Conference (ChemPor-2023) occurred at Braganca Polytechnic University (Instituto Politécnico de Braganca, IPB), September 12-15, 2023.
CIMO-IPB researcher Miguel Vilas Boas, Portugal, was elected President of the Scientific Committee on Beekeeping Technology and Quality for the 2024-2027 term, replacing Etienne Bruneau, Belgium, who held the position for the last 14 years. The election was held in the last APIMONDIA 2023 during the general assembly of the World Beekeeping Federation meeting, where the representatives of the scientific and regional commissions were also indicated.

The III Workshop on Hops and Beer will take place on 20-22 July 2023 at the School of Agriculture of the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança, in Bragança.
Ana M. Antão-Geraldes, a CIMO/IPB/SUSTEC researcher, participated together with 79 other researchers who are members of the international "Global Lake Ecological Observatory Network (GLEON)", in a pioneering study on the presence of plastic waste in lakes and reservoirs. This study resulted in an article just published in the journal Nature under the title "Plastic debris in lakes and reservoirs" (DOI: 10.1038/s41586-023-06168-4).
Within the context of the Program “Promove 2023” promoted by the Foundation “La Caixa” and the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT), CIMO-IPB got approved 2 Mobilizing R&D projects, CyChest – Filomena Barreiro, and BeeSustain – Miguel Vilas Boas, the last one coordinated by CIMO. This year, among other activities, CIMO-SusTEC participated in the event Ciência 2023 – Portuguese Science Summit, imparting the thematic session “The sustainability of agri-food production in Northern Portugal: vulnerabilities and emerging challenges”, a co-organization with CITAB/Inov4Agro, GreenUPorto/Inov4Agro, and CeDRI/SusTEC. Ciência 2023 was organised under the motto “Science and ocean beyond the horizon” and hosted by the University of Aveiro, 5-7 July.

This week, Expresso has highlighted the recent results for the granting of the status of Associate Laboratory (AL) and, in particular, the new units created from research units located in the interior regions of Portugal. Among these units is SusTEC - Laboratory for Sustainability and Technology in Inland Regions, a unit that associates CIMO (Centro de Investigação de Montanha) and CeDRi (Research Centre in Digitalization and Intelligent Robotics), two research units of IPB, thus being the only AL entirely based on the polytechnic system.
The Mountain Research Center (CIMO) and the Digitalization and Intelligent Robotics Research Center (CeDRI), research units based at the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança (IPB), were awarded the Associated Laboratory (LA) statute, with the maximum classification (100%) for a 10-years period.
The approved LA, Associated Laboratory for Sustainability and Technology in Inland Regions (LA SusTEC), is the only LA wholly based on the Polytechnic System and inland regions.

scheduled for 19 to 21 May will be an ONLINE conference. This 7th edition will be organized by

On 13th November, a proposal for the creation of a laboratory involving Portuguese and Spanish higher education entities and research centers (Instituto Politécnico de Bragança – CIMO, Universidade de Vigo – CITACA and CACTI) was presented. IFL will promote sustainable agricultural systems, food science and technology from a circularity perspective, as also healthy eating habits and food security.
The project OleaChain: Skills for sustainability and innovation in the value chain of traditional olive groves in the Northern Interior of Portugal, which accounts with the participation of CIMO, CeDRI, UNIAG and CIEB, all IPB research units, was approved.

Lillian Barros, CIMO-IPB Vice-Coordinator, was awarded in the event “Mujeres Ingenieras de Éxito” held in Zamora last September 10th. The event was organized by the “Asociacion de Ingenieros Tecnicos Industriales” of Zamora and aimed to honor the contribution of women in the industrial sector. The other two awarded women were Sara García Álvarez and Eva Vega Carrasco.
CIMO-IPB researcher, Jacinto Benhadi Marín, was awarded with the PhD Award in Ecology – Amadeu Dias Foudation – 2020 Edition, organized by SPECO (Portuguese Society of Ecology).The work of Jacinto Benhadi Marín was developed at CIMO-IPB and addressed the thematic of biological control focusing on the potential role of spiders as natural enemies in the olive grove agroecosystem.
A one-day online workshop will be delivered by BioData.pt on July 20th on the basics for constructing and using Data Management Plans (DMPs) in the context of research activities. The workshop is targeted to lecturers, researchers, lab managers, PhD and Master students of the Instituto Politécnico de Bragança and associated research centres.
The 16th Edition of the AgroStat Conference (AgroStat 2021) will be take place from the 8th to 11th June 2021 in the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança, and is organised by CIMO researchers, Vasco Cadavez and Ursula Gonzales-Barron, who act in the quality of Chairs of the event, alongside Pascal Schlich from the Centre des Sciences du Goût et de l’Alimentation (INRAE, France). Previous editions were held in France, Switzerland, Italy and Morocco.

Last 8th June, the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança (IPB), through CIMO-IPB, signed two cooperation protocols to study and valorize the high quality virgin olive oils produced in the Northern Region of Portugal.
Last May 8th CIMO-IPB received the visit of the Minister of Science, Technology and Higher education. The visit aimed to witness the starting of the research activities at our research unit, and to do the follow-up of the COVID-19 initiatives.
Among several worldwide initiatives, CIMO-IPB cooperative mission in fighting COVID-19 pandemics was highlighted by our Mountain partners Euromontana and Mountain Partnership.
Today, April 8, the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança celebrated an agreement with the Ministry of Labor, Solidarity and Social Security, and the Northeast Local Health Unit, to carry out COVID-19 tests on nursing homes and other social institutions in the Trás-os-Montes Region. CIMO-IPB is directly involved in this initiative by hosting the laboratorial unit in its central building and trough the participation of human resources. A special thanks to our colleagues Alice Pinto and Carina Rodrigues for the coordination of this mission.
Last 26th March, within the context of the Portuguese Government initiative “Governo +Próximo”, CIMO-IPB was visited by the Minister of Agriculture, Maria do Céu Albuquerque.
Last February 10th CIMO-IPB welcomed a delegation from UniCesumar – Brazil to visit our research facilities and sign a protocol of cooperation. UniCesumar is an University Centre from Brazil Sud with campus in Maringá, Londrina, Ponta Grossa, and Curitiba.
Workshop "Bread: Art and Tradition with Space for Innovation" will occur on February 15, 2020. This workshop addresses an overview of traditional Portuguese bread, scientific discoveries from which artisanal production can take advantages, including mixtures and not allowed flours, functional natural ingredients, and techniques for assessing the quality of dough and bread.

CIMO-IPB researchers in cooperation with CEDRI-IPB have registered the software DEEPWINGS® and the Mobile App Asian-Hornets. DEEPWINGS® program can be used to segment honey bee wings and identify, automatically, 19 wings landmarks with an accuracy of 97%, enabling subspecies classification.

CIMO-IPB will organize the next CA17128 LignoCOST Co-located joint Working Groups + 3rd MC meeting that will be held in Hotel Régua Douro, Régua, Portugal in November 13-14. SpraySafe is a spray based on natural, sustainable and edible ingredients providing an alternative to plastics in food preservation (e.g. packaging and protective films). This CIMO-IPB idea was awarded with one the 3 prizes in the 2019 European Social Innovation Competition edition. The competion will proceed with the Impact Prize in 2020. CIMO-IPB researchers, Ursula Gonzales-Barron and Vasco Cadavez, have launched the “Handbook of Predictive Microbiology Growth Models using R”, which is the first published book providing basic programming guidelines to a researcher or student wishing to become acquainted with classical predictive microbiology modelling.
The aim of ValorNatural project is the research and development of high added value natural ingredients for industrial application, presenting strong skills in the agri-food area. CIMO members João Rodrigues and João Azevedo will participate in the final conference of the project “O Lobo e o Homem: proteger, valorizar e sensibilizar”, from 20 to 22 of september. This is a project of the Municipality of Paredes de Coura, in the mountains of the Northwest, that aims to prevent and solve conflicts between humans and wolves through education and land and resource valorization.

Mountains 2018 - International Event in Friburgo discusses sustainable mountain development.
Mountains 2018 started Monday, December 10, in Nova Friburgo, Brazil. The event, comprising the III Workshop on Sustainable Development in Mountain Environments and the II International Conference on Research for Sustainable Development in Mountains Regions, is the largest conference dedicated to mountains research and development ever organized in Brazil.
Three CIMO researchers are part of 2018 Clarivate Analytics list of Highly Cited Researchers. This list includes world top scientists “who have demonstrated significant influence through publication of multiple highly cited papers during the last decade”.

The Mountain Research Centre-Cape Verde (CIMO-CV) was officially created last Friday, November 23, in Praia, Cape Verde, by the Rector of the Cape Verde University, Judite Medina do Nascimento, and the President of the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança, Orlando Rodrigues, who signed the protocol for its establishment in the presence of the Portuguese Secretary of State of Science, Technology and Higher Education, João Sobrinho Teixeira, and the Coordinator of CIMO, Isabel Ferreira.
The President of the Spanish Government, Pedro Sánchez, and the Prime minister of Portugal, António Costa, have expressed their satisfaction for progress made in cooperation in research across borders in the mountains regions of Trás-os-Montes and Castile and León.
The project SAFe – Forest Alert System – recently selected for funding by the “Fundação La Caixa” under the Promove programme, has been covered by the national newspaper Público. Accessible and flexible detection and communications technology will be developed to be used in forest observation and detection of fires in the Nogeira mountain range.
Paula Baptista was elected as the new convenor of the International Organisation for Biological and Integrated Control (IOBC-WPRS), working group “Integrated protection of olive crops”. This group fosters the exchange of knowledge and expertise on research, development and implementation of integrated and biological control strategies for olive pests and diseases.
The research project HoneyOrigin received an honorable mention at the “Projects of the Future” Food & Nutrition Awards in the category of Research and Innovation. This recognition was delivered during the 2018 Food & Nutrition Annual Conference that took place in Lisbon on October 16.

The 7th Portuguese Young Chemists Meeting will be held in Bragança, from May 20th to 22nd 2020. On 2020 this bienal conference will be organized by CIMO-IPB researchers. This biennial conference, dating back to 2008, is dedicated to gather young researchers from all subfields of Chemistry, as well as other related scientific areas of research. Young chemists and researchers from any nationality are particularly encouraged to share their scientific highlights amongst their peers from chemical sciences, expand their international research network and attend lectures from recognized experts in various field of Chemistry.

The 2018 Mountain Ecosystems Award is an initiative of the Portuguese Ecological Society (SPECO), CIMO and IPB to recognize high quality MS theses dedicated to research on mountain ecosystems.

The contribution of CIMO researchers Nuno Rodrigues and José Alberto Pereira to the valorization of olive oil in the region of Trás-os-Montes has been highlighted in the July issue of the Portuguese business magazine "Revista Business Portugal".
Several CIMO researchers in the fields of plant protection and Integrated pest management participated in the Biosfera tv show broadcast by RTP, the public television service in Portugal, last Saturday, July 7. Biosfera Episode 27 was dedicated to Pests and Pathogens in the Forest Landscape.
CIMO participated in the 2018 edition of the annual meeting of Portuguese researchers, Ciência 2018, Lisbon, 4-6 July. CIMO members presented some of the most relevant work currently conducted at the centre in the form of oral and posters presentations, and demonstrations.
Demolab (workshop) was held last June 20, under the scope of INTERNOVAMARKET-FOOD project, financed by POCTEP in the activity of acceleration of technological innovation INNOVA PLUS, promoted by CIMO/IPB. Demolab's main objective was the demonstration of technological solutions for the improvement of products in the agro-food industry, in particular the extraction of high-value ingredients.
"DEMOLAB" event will take place on June 20 at CIMO. This events's theme is "Valorization of natural resources through the extraction of high added-value ingredients for use in the food industry".

The final and full version of the e-book "Sustainability of Portuguese Mountains: realities and challenges" is now available to the public. This e-book, edited by CIMO members João Azevedo, Vasco Cadavez, Margarida Arrobas and Jaime Pires, was published in 2016 and covers a wide range of mountain research and development topics in Portugal.
The second edition of the "River Restoration Seminar" will take place on May 25-26 at the IPB School of Agriculture in Bragança. This year's theme is "Challenges and opportunities for the North of Portugal Region" and it will addressed by an outstanding selection of specialists from the academy, enterprises, and governmental and non-governemnt organizations in Portugal and Spain. The Call for abstracts for the II International Conference on Research for Sustainable Development in Mountain Regions, which takes place 12–14 December in Nova Friburgo, RJ. Brazil, is now open. The deadline for submissions is 31 May.
This course aims to provide theoretical and practical preparation based on the technique of animal cell culture as well as the potential of clinical application including flow cytometry techniques. It was designed for people with little experience in cell cultures. It may be useful for people involved in research or teaching, as well as for students or laboratory technicians.
Carlos Aguiar, a CIMO botanist and plant ecologist will participate in an international expedition to the desert of Moçâmedes, Angola, that will last three weeks and where he will have a chance to see for the first time Welwitschia mirabilis.
CIMO is one of the institutions that participate in the Red List of Vascular Plants of Mainland Portugal project. This is lead by the Portuguese Botany Society (CPBotânica) and the Portuguese Association of Vegetation Science (PHYTOS) in a partnership with the Institute of Nature Conservation and Forests (ICNF).

The II Sustainable Agroforestry Management Week will take place in Vimioso, Portugal, from March 23 to 31, 2018. Organized by the Portuguese Animal Traction Association (APTRAN), CIMO, the Municipality of Vimioso, Aldeia, ZASNET, and the School of Agriculture of the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança, the event includes the II Seminar on Sustainable Agroforestry Management (23 March) and the IV Advanced Course in Animal Traction in Sustainable Agroforestry Management (26-31 March).
The Prime-Minister of Portugal, António Costa, visited Bragança last Friday in the second day of the "Knowledge and Innovation" Roadmap. The visit included an event dedicated to the recently approved “MORE- Montanhas de Investigação” Collaborative Laboratory in the Brigantia EcoPark where the laboratory was publicly presented and the respective contract with FCT signed.
The “Food Irradiation Technologies: Concepts, Applications and Outcomes”, edited by CIMO researchers Isabel C.F.R. Ferreira and Amilcar L. Antonio, and by Sandra Cabo Verde from the “Centro de Ciências e Tecnologias Nucleares” (U. Lisbon), has been published by the Royal Society of Chemistry. The book was considered by Food Irradiation as “ the most comprehensive book on food irradiation ever published.
Terras Dazibo and Olimontes olive oils, with technology developed in collaboration with the IPB, group of Professor José Alberto Pereira, won 4 medals in Los Angeles contest, two gold and two silver.

Centro de Investigação de Montanha - CIMO - is a Research Unit that researches mountain products in order to boost innovation and value creation in the Mediterranean mountain regions. This Research Unit belongs to Instituto Politécnico de bragança - IPB - and is a multidisciplinary center that develops innovative products in the food, footwear, agricultural plagues, etc.

CIMO is one of the organizers of the international Geobotanical Expedition to the Delta of the Cunene River, Angola, from March 24 to April 10, 2018. CIMO researcher Carlos Aguiar will be one of the Portuguese botanists who, with others from Angola, France and Germany, will produce a vegetation system for the Southwest of Angola.As part of this expedition, a seminar dedicated to “Flora, vegetation and biogeography of Southwestern Angola: knowledge and sustainable development” will take place on March 26, at the University José Eduardo dos Santos, in Huambo.
CIMO with EUROMONTANA are the new representatives of Major Group Organizations of Europe in the Steering Committee of the Mountain Partnership for the next four years. CIMO/EUROMONTANA were elected during the 5 th Global Meeting that took place in FAO headquarters in Rome from December 11 to 13.The Mountain Partnership is a United Nations voluntary alliance of more than 300 partners from governments, intergovernmental organizations, major groups (e.g. civil society, NGOs and the private sector) and subnational authorities.
CIMO is the winner of the "O Norte Somos Nós" Awards in the category of Research. The "O Norte Somos Nós" Awards is an initiative of the "Comissão de Coordenação e Desenvolvimento Regional do Norte" CCDRN) to publicly recognize innovative projects that have been supported by European Union Funds during the Regional Operational Program (Community Support Framework 2007-2013). The awards were announced during the O Norte Somos Nós" Awards ceremony last Thursday in Porto. CIMO was one of the seven awardees in all categories among 21 nominated institutions/projects.

The Portuguese Association of Animal Traction (APTRAN) organizes its 5th Technical-Scientific Seminars on Animal Traction on December 16, in Bragança. The topic of the 2017 edition is “Management and Valorization of High Natural Value Areas” that will be presented and discussed by José Lima Santos(ISA, University of Lisbon), Alberto Gil Carrera (Natural Park Baixa Limia - Serra do Xurés, Spain), Amilcar Teixeira (CIMO/ESA-IPB) and José castro (ESA-IPB). The event includes also a practical demonstration of animal traction in riparian forests management, led by João B. Rodrigues (APTRAN).
The International Conference on Predictive Modelling in Food (ICPMF) is an international biannual conference whose mission is to catalyse the development of predictive modelling in foods to support stakeholders, risk assessors and governmental authorities. CIMO researchers Ursula Gonzales-Barron and Vasco Cadavez were successful in their bid to bring the 11th edition of ICPMF to IPB.
The National Mountain Research Network (Rede Nacional de Investigação de Montanha - RNIM) will be launched on December 11, 2017, International Mountains Day, in a public session at the Polytechnic Institute of Guarda. The event includes presentations of RNIM, the collaborative project "MORE-Mountains of Research", and the “GeoPark Estrela” initiative. The Coordinator Council of the National Mountain Research Network (Rede Nacional de Investigação de Montanha - RNIM) met for the first time last Friday, November 3. This meeting marks the beginning of the establishment and expansion of the Network and its contribution to the development of mountain research in Portugal where nearly 40% of the country's area is mountains. The RNIM was created in April of 2017 through a Government Order (Despacho n.º 3434/2017) signed by 7 Ministers.

The journal Regional Science Policy and Practice, with the collaboration of the Portuguese Regional Science Association, will organize the symposium "How to recover/heal communities, wellbeing and create resilient places from the ashes of wildfires?" in Coimbra on December 20, 2017. CIMO researcher Orlando Rodrigues, is one of the keynote speakers of the event which has the support of the Mountain Research Centre (CIMO). The Federal University of Technology - Paraná (UTFPR), in Brazil, has become a member of LuMont, the Lusophony Mountain Research Network. UTFPR has signed a collaboration agreement with CIMO and IPB on October 12, 2017 with the goals of promoting circulation and sharing of information and cooperation of these institutions and their researchers in different domains of research.
CIMO has participated actively in the "Meeting with Science and Technology in Portugal" CIÊNCIA 2017 that took place from July 3 to 5 in Lisbon. CIMO researchers presented numerous talks and posters in sessions under the “Agroalimentar, Florestas e Biodiversidade” thematic research and innovation agenda, as well as under Structural Programs. CIMO has also organized demonstration booths on olive oil and olive orchards genetic heritage and web-based forest management tools. The first review on mountain food products has been published in the journal Trends in Food Science & Technology. This review was authored by CIMO researchers Natália Martins and Isabel C.F.R. Ferreira providing an overview of mountain food products in Europe, “highlighting their contribution to the recent evolutions of the so-called modern lifestyle and of the increasing consumer demand for healthy and natural food products, and focusing on the role of certification”. The IX Iberian Congress of Agricultural Engineering will be held in Bragança, Portugal, from September 4 - 6, 2017. The Iberian Mountain Research Network - Rede Ibérica de Investigação de Montanha (RIIM) - was established last Friday, May 26, 2017, in the Instituto Politécnico de Bragança through the signature of a Memorandum of Understanding among Universities and Research Centres from Andorra, Spain and Portugal.
Mountains 2018 is an international conference that will bring together scholars, professionals, policy makers and others involved with multiple aspects of the mountain world. The Conference seeks to stimulate and disseminate knowledge about the topic based on lessons learned from scientific research and practical experiences related to use and challenges of promoting sustainable development in mountain territories, including how mountains can contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals.
